Step 4: Paint rim lighting or rim highlights (best with tablet, but if you use mouse turn Smoothing up like I did bc I was too lazy to get my tablet out). Tip: Use layer type soft light and low opacity for shadows. This step gives more depth to your image. Like, if you have a light source coming from the right, the left side of the face would probably be more shadowed. Step 3: I paint in shadows and highlights on sim using a Soft Brush and Dodge tool. Keep your light sources in mind and position based on them. Sometimes, I also use the mixer brush tool.
